Our unique programs and unmatched access to real world opportunities draw students from diverse countries around the world, with applicants from over 34 countries. Students in the LLM in US Legal Studies Program can study core US law, prepare for the bar, or focus on one of these specialties: Corporate & Commercial Law, Immigration Law, Labor & Employment Law, Litigation & Lawyering Skills, Property Development/Real Estate Law, or US Legal Practice.
Overseeing these programs is our new Director of the LLM Programs in US Legal Studies and International Legal Studies, Benedetta Faedi Duramy.
Benedetta Faedi Duramy is a Professor of Law and Associate Dean of Faculty Scholarship at Golden Gate University School of Law, where she teaches Family Law, International Human Rights, Gender and Children's issues in International Law, and Property, among others. The author of several book chapters and articles, Professor Faedi Duramy completed her JSD (PhD equivalent) at Stanford Law School. She has received numerous awards for her extensive research and scholarship on gender-based violence, with a special focus on Haiti. Her book “Gender and Violence in Haiti: Women's Path from Victims to Agents" was published in 2014 by Rutgers University Press, and her edited volume "International Perspectives and Empirical Findings on Child Participation" was published in 2015 by Oxford University Press.
She received an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, an MA in Political Science from the University of Florence, and an LLB from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (summa cum laude). She was a researcher for the Child Protection Unit of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti and worked in private practice in London.

GGU is excited to announce the International Welcome Scholarship for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 Applicants. First time students who enroll full time in one of our Graduate Law Programs are eligible for a $1000 or $2000 merit scholarship on the basis of their TOEFL or IELTS scores. No additional application is required.

Golden Gate University School of Law also recently signed a new partnership with Themis Bar Review Services, creating the most comprehensive bar prep integration in the nation. This new, groundbreaking partnership will include significant integration of bar preparation into the curriculum and give students will receive nearly full coverage of the cost of their Themis Bar Preparation program.
Our international students who wish to take the bar can take full advantage of these stellar bar preparation courses and resources. GGU Law’s LLM Students will have nearly the full cost of their bar preparation course (for the California & New York Bar Exams) included in their tuition and fees.
