Admission

  • The student must possess anon-Chinese passport and be in good health.
  • Academic requirements: recognised bachelor’sdegree or above, or its equivalent.
  • English proficiency: a TOEFL certificate with80 points or higher, or an IELTS certificate with grade 6.0 or above, or othercertificate of English proficiency from an accredited test. Native Englishspeakers and applicants who have taken courses in English during theirbachelor's degree are exempt from this requirement, but the student shouldproduce a medium-of-instruction certificate.
  • Professional backgrounds: students with appropriateprofessional experience will be given prior consideration.

Procedures

  • Applicants should first complete the mandatory online application and upload the required documents here. Paper-based applications without an associated online application will not be considered.
  • Send the application form generated automatically upon successful online application and other required application documents by post to the address below. You will receive an email acknowledging the receipt of your application upon its arrival.

Documents to Submit

  • Photocopy of a valid passport
  • Application Form for International Students, which should be completed in Chinese or English and then printed after successful online application;
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate (notarized copy in English or Chinese). Applicants who are currently studying at a university should provide a study certificate.Certificates in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Chinese or English
Note: Applicants who have provided a study certificate should submit a notarized copy of their bachelor’s degree to the XMU Admissions Office before the specified registration date; failure to do so will result in disqualification of enrollment
  • Academic Transcripts relating to bachelor’s degree. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Chinese or English
  • Study or research plan (minimum 1,000 words) in Chinese or English
  • Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors
  • Copy of English Language test certificate (TOEFL, IELTS or other certificate)
  • Photocopy Of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (available at the Admissions Office Website), completed in Chinese or English ( The original is to be retained by the applicant)
  • Statement Of Financial Support (available at the Admissions Office website) certifying that the applicant has sufficient funds to cover his or her tuition,accommodation and living expenses. It should be accompanied by an employment certificate or income certificate and a photocopy of the valid passport of the financial sponsor
